Darin Hertel is one of Cornerstone Automotives' Shop Managers, having been with the team for over 2 years. In the shop, Darin can always be found juggling multiple responsibilities, including engaging with customers and technicians, organizing appointments, and ensuring the availability of required parts and supplies. Darin possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Business Communication and an Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology. In addition to his academic qualifications, he has accumulated extensive experience in both the Agriculture and Automotive sectors over the years. He currently lives in Great Bend with his wife, Nicole, and three children, Kolby, Keastyn, and Klarya. In his free time, he enjoys working on and restoring classic Mopars, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Jason became part of our team in early April 2025, stepping in as the Assistant Shop Manager. His responsibilities include processing orders, supporting fellow technicians, checking in vehicles, assisting customers at checkout, ordering parts, and researching parts for the techs. He particularly enjoys working on Dodge vehicles, both in and out of the shop. Jason earned his Associate's Degree in Automotive from Barton Community College in 2009 and has been involved with cars since he was just 13. He lives in Great Bend with his wife, Desiree, and their two children, Jaydon and Raelynrose. Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, tackling home improvement projects, restoring old Ford tractors and Dodge pickups, fishing, and walking the trails at Lake Barton.

Zach, an Automotive Technician at Cornerstone Automotive, joined the team in January of 2022. His duties include a little bit of everything, but specifically enjoys working on Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. Zach obtained an Associates in Applied Science from Pratt Community College, and also has his Chrysler training program certification. He resides in Great Bend, and when not at work, enjoys playing video games and spending time with his fiancé, Elizabeth, and children Eli and Sophia.

Ed, an Automotive Technician, has been with Cornerstone Automotive since January of 2024. Ed stays busy doing a little of everything around the shop, but specializes in Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler vehicles. With his Auto Technician Certification from Barton Community College and 15+ years of dealership experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the Cornerstone team. Ed resides in Great Bend with his wife, Karina, and his children, Jayleen, Junior, and April. He enjoys coaching soccer and spending time with his family when not at work.

Cornerstone Automotive welcomed Tyler to the team in June of 2020, as an Automotive Technician. Tyler’s responsibilities include a variety of tasks, all of which he genuinely enjoys. In addition to his previous industry experience, he holds an Associate’s degree in Applied Science, as well as his Hunter Alignment Certification. Tyler resides in Great Bend, and enjoys riding motorcycles, camping, and fishing in his free time.

Shaun, an Automotive Technician and Tire Specialist, became part of our Cornerstone Automotive team in April 2025. He handles a variety of tasks, from oil changes and routine maintenance to more complex mechanical work, but his expertise in tires adds a valuable dimension to our shop. He earned his Certificate in Automotive from Barton Community College in 2012 and boasts over 15 years of industry experience. Residing in Great Bend, Shaun enjoys photography, traveling, NASCAR, and driving RC cars in his free time, and he loves spending quality moments with his family, including his wife Morgan and their children, Coral and Travis.

Cole joined the Cornerstone Automotive team as an Automotive Technician in January 2025. After graduating from Pawnee Heights High School in May 2024, he is currently pursuing an Associate's Degree in Automotive at Fort Hays State University, which he anticipates completing by May 2026. Balancing his academic commitments with part-time work, Cole commutes from his home in Great Bend and takes on a variety of tasks in the shop, such as conducting vehicle inspections, performing oil changes, and handling maintenance, while also assisting with more intricate engine repairs.  He enjoys expanding his knowledge through hands-on experience that complements his college education. In his spare time, he enjoys working on vehicles and spending time with his girlfriend.
